Professor Lee recieved the 2020 Taikyue Ree Academic Award

Professor Yong Rok Lee has received the 2020 Taikyue Ree Academic Award last October 21, 2020. This award is given by Korean Chemical Society (KCS) in cooperation with Taikyue Ree Commemoration Foundation to scientists who made distinguished research contributions to the Chemistry.

In the field of organic synthesis, Prof. Lee has been actively involved in the research on construction of aromatics and heteroaromatics via Benzannulation and N-Annulation strategies, Transition-Metal-Catalyzed or -Free Direct Oxidative Reactions, Utilization of Diazo compounds in Organic synthesis as well as Green Synyhesis and Green Synthetic Approach to Nanoparticles & Carbon Dots.

The awarding was held during the 126th General Meeting of the by the Korean Chemical Society (KCS) last October 19-21, 2020. On October 21, Prof. Lee gave a ceremonial lecture entitled “New Methodologies for the Construction of Aromatic and Heteroaromatic Compounds”
